What I want to do is make a bootable disk image of a laptop drive. Can I use your software along with Active@ Boot Disk Lite to boot and restore from the external USB drive?
The CD for Windows is actually a self-contained version of Windows which is capable of booting a computer into Windows.
This is convenient because drivers for devices like USB external drives are loaded at boot time.
By installing the software and clicking on the Bootable CD creator program, it takes care of making the bootable media for you.
You would then boot from that and restore an image that was earlier saved to a USB drive, or network drive or DVD-media for that matter. Once you boot from the Boot Disk Lite, you can actually eject the CD and insert another CD or DVD to be written to or read from.
